Last Friday, October 30th, our school community held a parade through the main streets of downtown Puerto Montt, beginning at our school, located at 270 Egaña Street, and continuing along Diagonal Germania, Benavente, Guillermo Gallardo, and Antonio Varas streets.
This activity took place as part of Science Week and the commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Day, two important occasions that encourage us to learn, reflect, and raise awareness about issues that are fundamental to our society.
Through this initiative, we aimed to promote the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection, bring science closer to our students and their families, and strengthen values such as solidarity, respect, and support for those facing this disease.
We also wanted to highlight the important role science plays in breast cancer research, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, helping our students understand that knowledge not only allows us to better understand the world around us, but can also become a powerful tool to care for others, provide support, and transform lives.
As a school community, we would like to express our special thanks to the 2nd Police Station (Carabineros) for providing protection and ensuring everyone's safety throughout the parade, as well as to the Community Safety Team of the Municipality of Puerto Montt for their cooperation and support in making this activity possible.
We also extend our gratitude to all the parents and families who joined us and participated enthusiastically, helping make this event a meaningful opportunity for learning, participation, and community engagement.
